About the role:

Do you have expertise in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a vibrant, inclusive school community in Colindale, London! As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH Specialist), you will play a vital role in supporting pupils who require tailored emotional and behavioural guidance. Working closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff. This position is open for immediate start. Application Requirements: We are seeking a compassionate, proactive individual with:
• Experience working with children with SEMH needs, ideally in a primary school setting.
• A strong understanding of positive behaviour management techniques.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• The ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN qualifications) are desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing 1:1 or small-group support for children with SEMH needs.
• Implementing and adapting learning plans to meet individual needs.
• Promoting positive behaviour strategies to enhance pupils’ engagement and emotional well-being.
• Supporting students in both academic and social activities, helping them to build confidence and resilience.
• Collaborating with external professionals such as therapists and educational psychologists, as needed.
