A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
We are a married couple living in the Pontcanna area of Cardiff. We have spent most of our working lives as news journalists for national newspapers, including postings abroad. My husband has, since moving to Wales, been a broadcaster as well as the author of several books.
We both have a diagnosis of Dementia but my husband’s illness is in a more advanced stage. He is fit and loves to get out and see the world. He is able to wash and dress himself at the moment but he may require minimum support with this. He does experience episodes of sun downing which need managing sensitively.
My dementia is less advanced but I have ongoing memory issues and suffer with anxiety.
We have carers come in four times a day at the moment.
We are looking for a small team of PA’s to provide companionship to both myself and my husband, but will also involve trips out to the park, the shops and hopefully beyond.
