The successful candidate will play a key role in defending complex catastrophic injury claims on behalf of insurers and other defendants. Key Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of defendant catastrophic injury claims, including but not limited to spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, severe burns, and amputations. Conduct thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding each claim, gathering evidence and documentation to support the defence strategy. Work closely with insurance clients and other defendants to develop effective defence strategies and achieve favourable outcomes. Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and witness statements, with accuracy and attention to detail. Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings, advocating vigorously for their interests. Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and legal developments in the field of catastrophic injury litigation. Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor with an interest in defendant catastrophic injury claims and some experience in working on claimant or defendant personal injury or clinical negligence files. Strong understanding of personal injury law, including relevant statutes, case law, and procedural rules. Excellent litigation skills, with the ability to effectively advocate for clients in negotiations and court proceedings. Proven track record of successfully defending complex injury claims. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
