Position: IT Infrastructure Engineer Suitable for: IT Infrastructure Engineer, IT Support Analyst, 3rd Line Support Engineer or Analyst Location: Isle of Man – candidates must be willing to relocate if not already a resident of the IOM Salary: £35k - £45k DOE Unfortunately, our client is unable to provide sponsorship. The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for providing support, maintenance and optimising the organisation’s on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructure. The IT Infrastructure Engineer will focus on ensuring the stability, availability and security of the network servers and systems that support business operations. The role blends technical expertise with problem solving to maintain and improve the efficiency of the IT environment. IT Infrastructure Engineer Essential Skills: Approx. 5 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Technical Support, Networking Experience of Network and Network management – Network Protocols, Network Devices, Troubleshooting and monitoring. Experience of Server Administration - Windows Servers and Linux-based systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and domain administration. Experience with VMware, Hyper-V for managing virtual machines. Cloud Platform Proficiency – experience required with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, AZURE or GCP). Experience of Vulnerability Management and Threat Detection – Nessus, Qualys or OpenVAS. Experience of Automation and Infrastructure Code (Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation) and basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bask or Python). Essential experience of: System and Network Monitoring Tools. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics. Virtualisation. Containerisation (Docker). Backup Solutions and Disaster Recovery. Storage Solutions - SAN, NAS and RAID configurations. Reporting and Data Analysis – Power BI or Tableau. Essential Qualifications – The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following: Microsoft Certified Windows Server. MS Certified Azure Administration. Cisco Certified Network Association CCNA. VMware Certified Professional (VCP). IT Infrastructure Engineer - Responsibilities: Ensure that critical infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage) are available and operational in downtime. Monitor systems to prevent outages and ensure business continuity. Provide timely support for infrastructure related issues, trouble shooting and resolving incidents efficiently. Perform routine maintenance, updates and patching and optimise infrastructure performance, identifying areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and capacity. Implement and manage security protocols, firewalls and threat detection systems to safeguard the infrastructure and ensure compliance with industry standards. Maintain and implement disaster recovery plans and ensure backup systems are properly configured and tested regularly for data protection and recovery. Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, system setups, infrastructure changes and technical procedures. Provide out of hours on call support on a rota basis.
