Deputy Works Manager / Workshop Manager
Location: Village location on the outskirts of Spalding
Industry: Engineering | Prefabricated Maintenance Vehicle Pits
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Works Manager / Workshop Manager for our client to oversee the efficient operation of their workshop, specialising in prefabricated maintenance vehicle pits. Their projects range from cars and small vans to military vehicles and trains.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality. This includes managing resource allocation, such as manpower, materials, and equipment, to optimise performance.
A key part of the role involves ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and industry standards, creating a safe and secure work environment.
You will also be responsible for leading and supervising the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Additionally, you will procure work, manage budgets, and maintain strong client relationships.
Required Skills & Experience:
To be successful in this role, you must have proven experience in a similar managerial position within an engineering workshop.
Strong man-management and leadership skills are essential, as well as experience in work procurement and resource planning.
A solid understanding of health & safety regulations and quality control processes is required to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills will be key in effectively managing operations and resolving challenges.
Proficiency in workshop management systems is also necessary to maintain efficiency and oversee workshop functions.
Other Information:
39-44 hours per week, with overtime pay for Saturday work.
You will receive 25 days’ annual leave plus 8 public holidays, ensuring a good work-life balance.
