Bid Writer

Up to £30k (+ performance-based bonus)
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced bid writer to join a thriving team and company based in Stone, Staffordshire. You will be working as part of an award-winning, well-established family-led company that fosters a supportive and forward-thinking work culture.
Role:
As the Bid Writer, you will be tasked with generating persuasive bid proposals and creating presentations for public sector (local authority) prospective clients.
On a day-to-day basis, you could be expected to:
1. Ensure that you work to strict deadlines and achieve internal and external time limits.
2. Attend multiple meetings and actively participate, adding valuable contributions.
3. Request information from colleagues and relevant parties within set time limits.
4. Consistently update and improve the Bid Library.
5. Adapt and refine content to enhance bid responses and re-write old proposals as needed.
6. Initiate and build great working relationships both internally and externally.
7. Conduct research to support all proposals and before meetings.
8. Submit completed proposal responses to the Senior Bid Writer or Head of Bid within agreed deadlines.
9. Develop tailored responses and method statements for each bid.
10. Create presentations and supporting handouts for each proposal.
11. Review and analyze outcomes following bids to improve future efforts.
12. Assist other departments with copywriting for newsletters and marketing material when needed.
Requirements:
To be considered for the Bid Writer position, you will ideally have 2 years' experience in bid writing and a proven ability to produce excellent sales and strategy documentation. Experience in copywriting/sales may be considered, but individuals with bid experience will take precedence.
Additional requirements for the Bid Writer role include:
1. Educated to degree level (preferable but not necessary).
2. Exceptional writing and English language skills.
3. Ability to generate concise and effective content.
4. Excellent editing skills.
5. IT proficiency (including Microsoft Office).
6. A forward-thinking, collaborative, and flexible approach with a strong work ethic.
7. Ability to confidently present bids in a professional manner.
8. Experience managing a demanding workload and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
9. Keen attention to detail.
