About the role:
To oversee and ensure the delivery of the Museum’s charging and non-charging temporary exhibitions in line with the Museum’s Exhibition Strategy. Responsible for the development and deployment of professional project management and delivery processes to ensure the success of the exhibitions programme including, but not limited to, budget, schedule, risk, stakeholder and quality management. Management and motivation of a project management team. Stakeholder management is also a key aspect of this role.
Key areas of responsibility:
1. To ensure the successful delivery of the Museum’s exhibition projects through the oversight of the project management team responsible for project delivery, and through the deployment of processes and procedures that ensure a robust, yet flexible, project delivery approach.
2. To develop, manage, support, and motivate a team of project managers in the delivery of exhibition and display projects within budget and project constraints, and ensuring high quality outputs.
3. To develop methodologies and processes that ensure a strong discipline of project administration and documentation and to report on project progress and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders as required.
4. To work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure the delivery of the programme and its integration with other Museum activity.
About you:
1. Degree in a relevant subject.
2. Experience in managing complex exhibition or display projects, involving multi-disciplined teams.
3. Experience of developing project processes e.g. budget, risk, programme, stakeholder, issue management and methodologies to deliver large projects.
4. Team management and development.
5. Excellent organisation, problem solving, risk management and communication skills.
6. Ability to drive programmes with multiple workstreams.
7. Demonstrated experience of leading and motivating teams to deliver on time and within budget.
8. Proven track record of building relationships across teams and departments, and externally with other organisations.
9. Ability to problem solve through agile and flexible thinking.
10. Ability to lead, motivate, create and innovate.
