Introduction
We require a production engineer to join our production engineering team based in Abercynon in south Wales.
The production engineer defines and works out how the product will be manufactured and/or assembled on the production line including decision of packaging used.
They ensure the right quantity of components/products are delivered and alighned to support the speed of the production line. The Production Engineer is responsible for implementation of production processes and procedures, leading production and productivity imporvements with project based activities, including new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing layouts(cell design) to reduce waste, improve product quality, buld safety into process and reduce operating costs.
Requirements of the Role
1. Support the safe and effective use of people and equiptment to achieve the daily/weekly/monthly production plan.
2. Work in conjunction with the Planning department to the TOC process to meet the requirements of the capacity plan in the optimal way.
3. Ensure that the manufacturing teams are appropriately trained/qualified for the functions that they are required to perform in line with the work instructions.
4. Lead the team in the achievement of the operational KPI's and budgeted requirements.
5. Lead and champion the continuous improvement/ lean activities in line with the BE LEAN principles and support the VAVE activities through the implementation of cycle time reduction and tool life improvements etc..
6. Participate in the project management process for NPI and provide resoources as required.
7. Introduce new processes and equipment required to manufacture products to a required level of output.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Competency
8. An in depth knowledge of Cable harness assembly and the associated control requirements (IPC620)
9. Ability to identify and implement effective training requirements

12. Sbility to be able to communicate completely and effectively at all levels supported by strong listening skills

Requirements of the Person
17. A clear understanding of how a manufacturing process should be configured to ensure stable and effective outputs
18. Demonstrated ability to implement lean improvements in a structured way to continually improve the manufacturing performance
19. Ability to identify and implement new technologies to add value to the exisiting processes
20. Manage and control costs in line with budgets
21. HNC/HND or equivalent experience in a relevant dicipline
Desireable requirements of the Person
22. Previous experience of military and traction projects
23. Previous experience in connector or harness manufacturing
24. Knowledge of our customers and their industry

Our recruitment Process
Initially we will reach out to you for an informal conversation about the role. This will allow you the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about TT, our site and our team. It will also give us the chance to learn more about you and your experience to date. At this point both parties have the opportunity to decide if they would like to continue with the process.
Formal interviews will be held on site and include a tour of the facility.
Due to the specific projects TT Electronics Abercynon Supports we are unable to sponsor work visas for this role. Candidates will be required to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard Clearance and hold UK or US citizenship.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre and during employment drug and alcohol testing.
