JOB TITLE: Security Officer
LOCATION: Walsall, WS1 1YS
HOURS: 24 hours per week
SHIFT PATTERN: 2 days per week
PAY RATE: £11.95 per hour
Role Overview And Purpose
This important role is the public face of the Security Team. A can-do and professional attitude is essential in this highly influential role. You also need to ensure exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.
Part-time position 24 hours per week contract plus overtime covering holidays/sickness days/nights.
Key Responsibilities
* Readily interact with all visitors/tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first-class customer-focused service.
* Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site assignment Instructions, being always proactive.
* Continuously look for opportunities to be of assistance to visitors at the shopping centre, proactively helping wherever opportunities arise.
* Safeguard all sites to ensure a safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors/tenants.
* Ensure all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedures.
* Liaise with site control room, proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and always supported.
* Report any unsecure areas of the site to Control Room immediately and take action to resolve.
* Record/log all non-conformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives.
* Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies, ensuring the Centre team is kept fully informed.
* Monitor and surveil suspect individuals, logging and reporting incidents in line with site/company policies.
* Maintain vigilance and manage unauthorized access by banned individuals.
* Adhere to radio procedures at all times.
* Ensure all events/incidents are recorded in the Security Officer notebook correctly and that notebook policies are always adhered to.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
* Be available to cover at least one additional shift per month if requested to cover absence/annual leave.

DOCUMENTS/INFORMATION REQUIRED:
* Valid SIA Licence.
* 5-year checkable background.
* Must be over the age of 18 years.
* Documentation demonstrating eligibility to work within the UK.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Valid first aid Certificate.
