Software Developer
Salary: £47,000 - £52,000
Location: Birmingham - (City centre - 3 days a week on-site)
A new and exciting opportunity has come up to work for an innovative organisation that continues to grow. Due to expansion across all areas of the IT teams, they are now seeking a talented individual to join their busy Software Development Team. The successful candidate will be an experienced “hands on” Solutions Developer, complementing the dev support team and being a key problem solver.
Main Duties:
1. Responsible for the development and improvement of our Practice Management Systems.
2. Build browser based web solutions that meet the changing needs of the business and drive efficiency as part of our ongoing automation program.
3. Balance work on multiple projects at one time.
4. Maintain databases and objects such as tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, and indexes.
5. Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration.
6. Integrate with third party providers by consuming APIs, which could extend to building out API wrappers.
7. Ensure that industry standards and best practices are applied across the development and database environments, leading to systems that are secure, robust, and optimised.
8. Produce and maintain documentation contributing towards the wider development infrastructure.
9. Produce estimates (high-level and detailed) for development work.
10. Profile server resource usage and optimise as necessary.
11. Maintain interfaces with other systems both internal and external.
12. Collaborate within a cross functional team to help shape technical solutions and direction.
13. Work well with ever-changing processes to meet our company needs and requests.
Experience and Skills:
1. .NET framework / .NET Core (C#).
2. ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Functions.
3. Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL Server.
4. Good T-SQL skills.
5. Capable of troubleshooting common database issues and debugging stored procedures.
6. Ability to write clean, efficient, readable, and well documented code.
7. Proven experience of creating and implementing effective testing plans.
8. Experience of using code repositories.
9. Skilled at optimising large, complicated SQL statements.
