We are looking for an experienced thermal systems engineer to join an established multi-disciplinary R&D team based in the Southwest of England to work on technology developments, from initial concepts up to prototypes demonstrated in flight.
As the technical project lead for the thermal management of key sub-systems of sustainable aircraft powered by Hydrogen Fuel Cell, Hydrogen Gas Turbines or Hybrid Systems. You are expected to define of system architecture, trade-off analyses, system modelling and simulations, and performance assessment for integrated thermal management sub-systems, heat exchangers, and electric propulsion.
Position responsibilities
· Component design and development for thermal management components
· System architecture definition and development for thermal management sub-systems
· Provide expertise in an area of heat exchangers, electric propulsion motor cooling and their integration, numerical and thermal analysis
· Close collaboration with subject matter experts on architecture definition, systems, and component engineering, providing system level guidance, defining the trade-off studies and participation on system modelling and analyses.
· Definition and planning of system development, leading design reviews.
· Close collaboration with project manager and his/her support.
· Performing functional hazard assessment, system safety assessment, common cause analyses.
· Supervising preparation of Validation and Verification plans.
· Participation on preparation of system test procedures and acceptance test procedures.
· Preparing tasks for colleagues and integrate their results into your system development.
