Cpl is delighted to be partnering with one of N.I.’s leading Insurance Groups to appoint an experienced Motor Claims Handler to join their successful team in Belfast City.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with 2 years+ experience within the insurance industry to join this award-winning business.
Your new role:
As Motor Claims Handler the successful candidate will join a friendly and busy team investigating, negotiating, and settling a portfolio of motor claims.
Main Duties:
· Managing customer interactions via phone, email and other portals in a courteous manner to maintain a high level of customer service.
· Validating policy cover and managing customer’s expectations.
· Identifying and investigating potential fraud.
· Investigating, negotiating and settling claims in a cost effective and efficient manner.
· Ensuring reserves are accurate and kept up to date on our bespoke system.
· Addressing queries from insurance brokers, policyholders and other clients.
· Liaising with other colleagues, internal departments and external service providers.
· Referring to senior handlers and team leader as required.
· Preparing documents for payment approval.
· Reporting to insurers as required.
· Complying with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety procedures.
· Maintaining FCA compliance at all times.
· Carrying out any other functions deemed necessary by the Team Leader for the effective operation of the department.
What you’ll need to succeed?
Essential:
· Minimum of 2 years experience in within the General Insurance industry.
· 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English) or equivalent. This may be waived in lieu of extensive relevant experience.
· Experience dealing with enquiries in a customer service environment
· Sound working knowledge of basic computer systems and MS Packages including word and excel
· Strong negotiation skills.
· Excellent communication skills at all levels using a variety of media including phone and email
· An effective, willing and enthusiastic team player.
· Self-motivated with the ability to act on own initiative.
· Ability to investigate and make prompt decisions.
· Possesses the energy, enthusiasm and ability to work within a demanding environment that requires a hands-on approach.
· Ability to multi-task and prioritise work effectively and efficiently

· Hybrid working environment – 2 days in our Belfast based office, 3 days remote, after successful completion of training.
