About the Role Mid Norfolk Primary Care Network (PCN) has an opportunity for a pharmacy technician to join their busy team, supporting six GP practices and linked care homes across the Dereham area. This is a full time position but we can offer flexible working. The purpose of the role is to lead improvements to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of patient care and the successful candidate will be responsible for encouraging the development of better understanding of the principles of medicines optimisation throughout the practice teams. Main duties include:
1. Support the role of the clinical pharmacist at Primary Care Network Level.
2. Carry out medicines switches in GP practices in line with practice and ICB agreed specific protocols reviewing patients records; amending records and informing patients.
3. Carry out housekeeping whilst in patient records dose optimisation and medicines synchronisation.
4. Improve prescribing processes in general practice.
5. Promote electronic repeat dispensing and online ordering.
6. Report on key performance indicators for CPGP to demonstrate added value for patients and general practice in accordance with NICE guidance.
7. Use and maintain information systems and databases relevant to the position including incident reporting, medicines optimisation, prescribing data, cost savings and patient outcomes.
8. Work closely with GP practices and the ICB.
9. Participate in practice meetings, patient participation groups, and other meetings to improve engagement.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Essential:
10. Professional registration with GPhC.
11. BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences.
12. Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
13. Minimum of 2 years experience of working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community or hospital pharmacy.
14. Demonstrate experience of working with other clinical professionals/as part of multi-disciplinary teams to influence patient care.
Desirable
15. Evidence of further qualifications and/or study following registration.
