In this role you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality. Hours The site currently offers a 24-hour service and shift patterns Days: 7.00 to 20.00 Nights: 19.30 to 07.15 There will be an expectation to do a mix of days and nights and work 1 weekend in 4. Salary This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary between £41,094 - £47,466 per annum - depending on experience. How will we support you? What you'll be doing As an Early Days in Custody Team Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will Ensure patients have medical plans of care, assessing patients and carrying out relevant clinical investigations during their arrival, along with arranging follow-up appointments for them whilst offering advice and giving information. Evaluate and ensure the safe transfer of patients to acute hospitals if needed, as well as ensuring that plans of care are understood by the patient and the prison as appropriate. You will be able to demonstrate critical thinking skills in clinical decision making. Support in undertaking audits and governance. Provide healthcare to patients on site in the healthcare unit and locations across the prison. This will include some emergency care such as suturing, providing emergency response to undertaking dressings and performing a primary care function. Lead a team of healthcare practitioners some in specialist roles to deliver an effective safe medical service within the prison. Qualifications required Registered NMC nurse – Adult Evidence of Continued Professional Development Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards Understanding of audit and datix Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
