We are looking to appoint an excellent MDSA for 5 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 12.00pm -13.00pm and Friday 11.40am - 12.40pmActual salary £22,954 FTE/£2,593 (pay award pending)This is a permanent, term time post, with 38 weeks worked per year. You will join our excellent team of mid-day supervisors, under a senior MDSA. You will be responsible for the supervision of children during lunchtime, in the dining ’pod’, and on the playground; and play a valuable role in encouraging and ensuring that the children play safely and imaginatively.The successful candidate will be working with a hard working team of professionals who are committed to helping children realise their full potential.Key Responsibilities:To carry out the professional duties of a lunchtime supervisor. To be responsible to the Headteacher for the supervision of pupils during the lunchtime break so as to ensure the safety, general welfare and proper conduct of pupils during this period. The post holders are expected to interact on a professional level with colleagues in order to promote a mutual understanding of specific curriculum or other whole school matters with the aim of improving learning outcomes across the school.Main Duties:To Supervise pupils in designated areas of the school (including playground or other external or internal spaces) during the lunchtime break and to ensure their safety, welfare and general conduct through appropriate application of the school’s policies and procedures To establish safe and proper behaviour by appropriate intervention or referral to senior staff, as appropriate To supervise the movement of pupils to and from dining areas, classrooms, playgrounds, including any personal hygiene requirements (e.g.handwashing) To maintain good order in dining areas, including the supervision of pupils bringing their own food. To provide and initiate opportunities for play and games within the lunchtime provision. To ensure health and safety, food hygiene, requirements are met during lunchtime break. To assist pupils in their independence, where necessary, with the collection and return plates and bowls, or other items to the service counter. To assist pupils in their independence, as necessary, with the proper use of cutlery, drinking facilities or other aspects of the midday meal. To assist in the clearance of any spillages and the wiping down, clearing or resetting of tables, as appropriate. To assist in the setting up and removal of furniture outside of the dining area, where necessary. To take any immediate action to attend to sickness or accidents by carrying out minor first aid and summoning relevant assistance. To identify and report any unauthorised visitors on school premises. To complete any documentation required by the school in relation to incidents occurring during the lunchtime break period and to participate in review meetings, as required. The post holder will be expected to act as an adult role model and support school policies when dealing with students or visitors to the school and adhere to the academies staff code of conduct.
