Techniche Global are supporting a leading automotive manufacturer to appoint a Automotive Electronics Test Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HILS (Hardware-In-The-Loop)/Labcar testing:
2. Support / Lead development of HILS system for Body Electronics and Powertrain systems.
3. Support / lead the management of HILS testing on Electrical Integrated Platform.
4. Support both test and design departments to resolve issues with HILS models and testing.
5. Focal technical point for all HILS related matters with Japanese counterparts for functional, performance and reliability validation to Nissan design/test standards/specifications and regulatory requirements.
6. Creation of test plans to meet with project and design milestones.
7. Creation of testing procedures, confirmation of vehicle specifications and test parts required for test, including arrangement of vehicle transportation when required.
8. Overall vehicle test technical coordination role where required (project leader).
9. Formal reporting of test results to design sections and to upper management.
10. Root cause investigation and countermeasure recommendation.
11. Field investigation support on occasion.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
1. Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
2. Relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development, completing a minimum of two vehicle developments, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
3. Able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions travel may be long distance and for up to 10 weeks and/or at short notice.
4. Understanding of electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices.
5. Experience of software application into automotive ECUs in the manufacturing environment including flashing, coding/configuration, and calibration.
6. Able to risk assess software modifications and develop appropriate test plans.
7. Understanding of network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
8. Able to operate D-Space, CANalyzer, CAPL, CANoe, CANape, Matlab software or similar.
