Job Description Make your mark as a Senior ROV Tooling Designer for Boskalis Subsea Services located in Aberdeen. The Senior ROV Tooling Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and refining tools and equipment for remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) used in subsea operations. The idealcandidate will have experience in subsea tooling design, mechanical engineering and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe and efficient operation of ROV systems. Your responsibilities as Senior ROV Tooling Designer (Onshore): The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Tool Design and Development: Design and develop specialised tools for ROVs, including but not limited to manipulators, cutting tools, lifting devices and sensors for subsea tasks. Conceptual Design: Work with the engineering team to generate new concepts and design innovative tools that meet specific project requirements and operational needs. 3D Modelling and CAD: Create detailed 3D models and drawings using CAD software (e.g.,AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor) for the design of ROV tooling systems and components. Mechanical Design: Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of structural engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice. Produce clear, concise verbal and written communication which may include preparation and checking of design reports and design analyses / calculations as well as providing engineering input support to project teams and drawing office. Prototype Development: Oversee the development and testing of prototypes, ensuring that the tools meet the specifications and operational demands of subsea tasks. Manufacturing Support: Provide design support to manufacturing teams, ensuring the fabrication of tooling systems according to the design specifications and standards.
