We are currently seeking Special Needs Assistants to join our team in Wigan this September, providing crucial support to children in primary education. This role offers an hourly rate of £13 to £14, based on your experience and qualifications. You'll work with children who have a variety of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, behavioural difficulties, cognitive delays, global delay, Down syndrome, and hearing impairments. We ensure that your skills and experience are matched with the right SEN requirements, allowing you to make the most significant impact.
Responsibilities
1. Preparation of resources and activities for 1:1 support tailored to the child's needs.
2. Collaborate with classroom teachers / SENCO to organise appropriate activities.
3. Liaise with other professionals such as Teacher's, TA, specialist support staff.
4. Work closely with other LSAs and support staff.
5. Work with classes, small groups and with children on a one to one basis.
6. Monitor and track the development of the pupil In question and support personal development and confidence.
Essential requirements
7. Experience of working with young people.
8. Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
9. Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
10. Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
11. Have experience with SEN or knowledge learning difficulties.
12. TA qualified.
