What will you be doing as our new Lead Mechanical Engineer?
You will provide technical leadership to our mechanical engineering team, focusing on water or water recycling non-infrastructure projects. Your expertise will ensure designs are compliant, efficient, and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely, within-budget project delivery meeting quality standards.
2. Promote innovative approaches and digital technologies to improve project outcomes.
3. Develop professional networks within and outside the @one Alliance.
4. Mentor and develop junior engineers within the mechanical team.
Role Accountabilities:
Engineering Leadership:
1. Report to the Principal Engineer and work closely with project stakeholders.
2. Review design deliverables for quality, safety, and standards compliance, guiding junior staff.
3. Contribute to construction design management and commissioning strategies.
4. Support sustainability initiatives and explore modular construction solutions.
Health & Safety:
1. Ensure designs comply with legal and industry health and safety standards.
2. Propose solutions to improve health and safety and reduce lifecycle costs.
3. Share knowledge and contribute to lessons learned.
Transformation:
1. Utilize digital technologies to enhance project efficiency and accuracy.
2. Support efforts to reduce carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices.
3. Mentor team members and foster continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile:
You should hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, with proven experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the water sector. Strong leadership skills, knowledge of industry standards, and proficiency in CAD and engineering tools are essential. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are also required.
