Start: 1 March 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, Part time (18.125 hours per week) Applications are sought for a committed Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with Dr Sarah Mills conducting research for a Marie Curie funded project entitled NU-GEST (NHS Unscheduled Care Geriatric End Of Life Screening Tool): An NHS Risk Prediction Tool For Near-term Mortality In People >65 Years Attending Unscheduled Care. The primary duties will be to run and analyse interviews and focus groups and co-design workshops. This post will be part of the Health Data Science research group within the Population and Behavioural Science Division team focused on the use of existing routine data within epidemiological studies and in the support of clinical trials and other research methods. The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD with expertise in qualitative research relevant to health. The successful candidate is expected to have demonstrated expertise in healthcare, medicine or psychological research and have relevant experience in qualitative methodologies, and analyses. Any experience in conducting qualitive research with clinical staff, patients and their caregivers would be particularly relevant to this project. The researcher should be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and research skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and with external collaborators. The candidate will be expected to provide significant intellectual input into the project. The post is available at 50% FTE for 18 months starting 1 March 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
