Core Responsibilities: Perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on both manual and CNC machinery, ensuring high efficiency and minimal downtime. Maintain and repair various plant systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Assist in the creation and refinement of maintenance programs and procedures. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards during maintenance tasks. Interpret technical drawings and operational manuals, helping to source necessary components for repairs. Support and mentor team members and apprentices as needed. Ensure that all work is completed to high standards, including self-checks and proper documentation. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and be involved in project-based activities as required.Experience and Skills Required: Extensive experience in maintaining manufacturing machinery, with a particular focus on CNC equipment. Previous experience working with CNC systems is crucial. Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline. Expertise in CNC control systems (Siemens or Mazak preferred). Proficient in safe lifting and slinging techniques. Experience working within a multi-skilled team in a heavy engineering manufacturing setting. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Desired qualifications include IPAF or equivalent certifications, and a forklift counterbalance license. Basic electrical knowledge or relevant experience is advantageous. Familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office suite is desirable.This role is ideal for someone with solid CNC machinery experience looking to apply their skills in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
