About The Role
We are looking for Senior Social Workers for a 7-bedroom Residential Family Assessment Centre in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire. This will be a busy and challenging role and therefore you will have commitment and dedication to providing high quality support to family and staff in line with OFSTED regulations. You will also be required to have excellent safeguarding standards and a strong ethos of providing effective support to families to achieve positive outcomes.
As a Senior Social Worker, in conjunction with other team members and professionals, you will have the overall responsibility of assessing, observing, supporting, and monitoring allocated families. You will complete a comprehensive Parenting Capacity assessment.
You will report to the Registered Manager/Deputy Manager and will also have some responsibility for staff supervision, which includes overall quality assurance of parenting capacity assessments. Additionally, you will be responsible for the progression and quality of all the final parenting capacity assessments submitted to the local authorities.
The role will also require deputising in the absence of the Registered Manager or Deputy Manager.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements:
* A Social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
* A minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience
* Good knowledge of safeguarding, assessment, and risk management and established experience of completing parenting capacity and holistic whole family assessments.
* Experience of partnership working with families and external agencies, preferably in a Safeguarding or Looked after Children’s Teams.
* Ability to communicate effectively in complex or challenging situations with families.
* Must be prepared to be flexible across evenings and weekends, according to the needs of the service.
Preferable Skills and Knowledge:
* Experience of Parenting Assessment Manual (PAM’s) or ParentAssess approach for assessing parents.
