Within the Care in the Home division, we support clients with spinal cord injury to live independently in their own homes.
We'd like you to join us as a Live In Support Worker in the Scales, Ulverston area.
Meet our client:
Client is spinal cord injured living in the Lake District who requires assistance from two support workers. He enjoys going to the farmers auctions weekly and getting out into the community regularly.
When you'll be working:
1. Rolling rota 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off
2. Living in the client’s home 24/7 when on shift
3. 12 hour working days
4. Working as a team of two (double up)
5. Zero hour contract with regular shifts as above
What you will be doing:
1. This role is to support our male client with a spinal cord injury within his own home
2. You will move into the client’s home and support him with personal care (including washing, dressing and toileting), moving and handling, domestic tasks and social activities
3. Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events
4. Follow the service user plan as documented for the client
5. Maintain accurate and confidential records
6. Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client
What you will have:
1. A full clean driving licence
2. A genuine interest in providing the best person-centred care possible
3. Previous experience of working with individuals with a spinal injury is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Willingness to learn and develop
6. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS (we cover the cost of this)
