About the Role An opportunity has arisen within Nottingham City Council for the position of Family Support Worker (one full time post and one part time post available) within the Targeted Family Support Team 3 based at St Ann’s Valley Centre and Clifton Cornerstone. The role is Grade F and will be worked hybrid. The team covers the south areas of Nottingham City to include St Ann’s, Mapperley, Dales, Clifton, Meadows and Lenton/Wollaton East. The applicant will work within the legislative and statuary planning frameworks, government guidance, and strategic aims in order to provide an integrated children’s service within a multi-agency locality team. The applicant will work within an integrated framework to support vulnerable children, young people, and families to improve their social physical and emotional wellbeing, and to take responsibility for direct and therapeutic interventions, including work with those who may be resistant to change to engage. To support parents and carers in overcoming barriers to help them meet the needs of their children. To deliver and co-facilitate a range of evidence-based programmes and group work in partnership with internal and external colleagues in order to support parents and carers. To engage with children, young people, and families using a holistic approach to include them in planning, decision making, and goal setting. To empower children, young people, and families to contribute to the development of the service through evaluation, consultation and feedback of services provided. About You The applicant will need to have the ability to maintain case files, record work and write reports and correspondence as appropriate. The applicant should have the ability to seek advice and guidance when needed, in particular responding promptly to incidents that may have safeguarding implications. The applicant will be a part of a busy and supportive team and you would be expected to be a proactive and positive member of the team, contributing to problem solving.
