Head of Computer Science teacher – Oldham – September 2024
A dedicated and passionate Head of Computer Science Teacher is required to work at a popular secondary school in Oldham, to join them on a full-time basis for 12 months, teaching key stage 3 & 4 from September, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full time basis.
You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents’ evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. This school teaches has a key focus on an investigative approach that compliments their well research pedagogy. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way.
As well as the above you will be required to maintain high standards across your department by monitoring the progress of the staff below you. You will also be required to implement any key focuses the school has to improve teaching and learning for students. You would also be expected to run department meetings and help with maintaining behaviour across your subject.

Hours – 8:30am – 4pm
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in science connected subject
Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT,, QTS, etc)
Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)
Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)
Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £
Provide a minimum of two professional references.
