The East Riding of Yorkshire Council are recruiting an Arts Development Assistant to support the work of the Arts Development Team across a range of diverse arts activity.
Principal accountabilities:
1. Support the effective planning and delivery of a range of high-quality arts programmes.
2. Support the creation and use of administrative systems needed such as registers, mailing lists, grant schedules, budget monitoring, project timelines and evaluation reports, drafting of contracts.
3. Support local artists through clear communication and management of the Team inbox and creation of regular newsletters.
4. Administration of small grants programme – supporting artists through application, collating applications for panel selection, coordinating communications and contracts and collecting evaluation data.
5. Support the work of the Arts Team by liaising with other council services to update websites, upload ticket sales to box office, update social media pages and release press releases.
6. Maintain records and comply with administrative procedures and data protection requirements in an efficient and effective manner.
7. Attend the relevant training and any further training required for the role.
8. Support the delivery of workshops and live events; meeting participants and audience members, supporting artists, cash handling for tickets and refreshments.
9. Support the Arts Team in writing of funding bids and funding reports through research, note taking, collation of evaluation data.
10. Perform any other duties which are appropriate to the grade and level of responsibility of the post.

Job Requirements
Essential
* Minimum 4 GCSEs or equivalent
* Experience of keeping accurate records, e.g. reconciliation of budgets or recording of data
* Using social media platforms in a work environment & creating engaging content
* Supporting event delivery/working with artists
* Excellent organisational & administrative skills
* Excellent ICT literacy & confidence on various software, e.g. Microsoft packages
* Ability to communicate effectively & sensitively with a range of people
* Proven ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload, often working to a tight deadline
* Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed
* Full Driving License & access to a car
Desired
* Trained Arts Advisor/experience of Arts Award delivery
* Experience of ERYC administrative & IT systems including gov delivery email, flexigrant & finance processes
* Budget reconciliation
* Tracking progress of multiple projects
* Knowledge of arts sector
* Working knowledge of safeguarding children
* Understanding of health & safety for events
Job Responsibilities
The East Riding Arts Development Team are recruiting an Arts Development Assistant to support the varied and busy work that they deliver with communities across the East Riding. The post holder will support the planning and delivery of events and projects such as Classically Yours, East Riding Youth Dance, and annual events like Let’s Rock.
The role requires excellent administrative skills and duties include administration and processing of Arts Grants, collating evaluation data, creation and management of registers, spreadsheets, requisitions, databases, calendars and processing of payments.
The role also needs a strong communicator who will provide social media and marketing support, management of a team inbox and communication with artists and community members. There will be some work supporting events that will require working with funding partners, artists, residents and children and young people. The post-holder needs to be self-motivated and able to prioritise competing tasks.
