Job Description Children, Education and Justice Services Senior Early Years Officer Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare Salary: £37,626 - £44,257 Hours: 36 per week Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare opened in August 2024. This exciting new centre for providing high quality learning experiences for children and families is part of the MacMillan Hub. MacMillan Hub is a community focused, collaborative location which will provide a range of services for the local community through partnership working with North Edinburgh Arts and the relocated Muirhouse library. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Early Years Officer to join our team. Pennywell ELC is a large setting with children from 0 to school age attending and we are registered for 166 children. We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of pedagogy who models this with every interaction they have with children, families and team members. This professional will demonstrate strong values and commitment to providing the highest quality experiences for children in our setting. They will be confident in addressing areas for development and will be able to create focussed action plans to implement positive change. Ideally this candidate will have a broad range of experience in all ages of early years. This opportunity may suit an experienced EYO ready for their next challenge. This position is a full year 52 week post, however we are willing to consider a term time position where the applicant is available between 8am-6pm. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.
