This role is crucial in ensuring all buses manufactured meet company and regulatory quality standards. Responsibilities include inspecting components, assemblies, and finished products for defects, enforcing quality control processes, and collaborating with production teams to maintain high workmanship standards. The Role: Conduct inspections of materials, in-process production, and finished buses to ensure compliance with specifications. Perform functional and safety tests on electrical, mechanical, and structural components of buses. Use measuring tools and testing equipment to verify dimensions, tolerances, and performance criteria. Identify and document defects, deviations, and non-conformities, and ensure corrective actions are taken. Ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer specifications, safety regulations, and industry requirements. Assist in the development and enforcement of standard operating procedures (WMPs) for quality assurance. Conduct audits and assessments of manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement. Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions taken. Prepare quality reports and present findings to supervisors and production teams. Assist in root cause analysis and the development of preventive measures. Evaluate and approve new/existing suppliers through supplier audits. Ensure all rectification/rework meets agreed standards. Implement relevant processes and procedures within the QMS. Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on quality trends and recurring issues. Communicate with all departments to eliminate defects at the source. Identify root causes of relevant issues and implement solutions with operators or other departments to prevent re-occurrence. Identify any operator training needs required to meet WMP/quality standards and refer to Level 4 operators and/or Safety Auditors for training. Complete relevant training records where necessary. The Requirements Minimum of 5 GCSE's grade C and above OR An apprenticeship qualification 1 Year previous quality inspection experience in manufacture or fabrication Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions Strong understanding of quality control processes, inspection techniques, and defect analysis.
