Swindon Psychological Therapies Service (PTS) comprises a supportive team of Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, a Family Therapist and Arts Psychotherapists. The Later Life branch of Swindon PTS is a small, dedicated and friendly team including a Psychology Lead for Later Life, Art Therapist, Music Therapist, Studio Assistant and two trainee Counselling Psychologists. All share a passion for providing high quality, compassionate care. We have established links with local training providers in Clinical and Counselling Psychology. All PTS staff have access to regular activities to support their ongoing professional development, including a bi-monthly CPD Club. We regularly host placements for undergraduate psychology students, Clinical and Counselling Psychology trainees and trainees in art and music therapy. The team has a strong emphasis on promoting staff wellbeing, including a bi-monthly reflective practice group and monthly wellbeing newsletter. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and highly motivated to provide a good quality, evidence based psychological service within a changing and challenging environment. They will have experience of working with individuals with complex psychological difficulties and risk issues within secondary care, and a particular interest in working with Later Life service users in acute distress.
