Welsh Language Support for Secondary School
Teaching Personnel are seeking a proactive Welsh speaker to support one of our partner schools in Bridgend. Welsh speakers, first or second language (confident), are valuable to secondary schools in Wales to support the culture of the Welsh language being encouraged to thrive, grow and develop for future generations.
Location: Bridgend, South Wales
Hours: 8:30 – 15:30 (term time only)
Pay: £100-115 per day
Start date: From March 3rd
Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Welsh speaker that is passionate about the Welsh language and the education of young people through the medium of Welsh. Our partner school provides excellent education through the medium of Welsh to 700 pupils of the Bridgend area, with a strong history of academic and sporting achievement.
The successful candidate will be supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) such as Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia. No prior experience of working with ALN is essential as training will be provided, only an enthusiasm for supporting learners who require additional support with their studies. Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia require support from a Support Assistant who can relay instructions, maintain focus and engagement in lessons, understand individual differences and be able to adapt tasks to meet the needs of the pupil.
ALN such as Autism and ADHD are diagnosed conditions that directly impact a young person’s ability to access many education practices and processes, neurodivergent learners require additional support to give them the opportunity to access like their neurotypical counterparts – you can make a real difference each and every day in this role! Teaching Personnel provide all educators with access to free online professional development courses to do at their convenience.
As Welsh language support, you will be provided with complimentary yet compulsory online safeguarding training courses to complete whilst registering with Teaching Personnel, followed by a trial placement in a local secondary school. After a successful trial you will then be able to be offered positions in secondary schools, with your dedicated consultant preparing you for success!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
