We are seeking a Chef De Partie to join our team at Northumbria University, working in the central production kitchen. The role involves preparing and serving food across campus outlets, hospitality, and events. The successful candidate will have strong cooking skills, experience in a similar role, and a passion for great food. They will be able to work positively with others as part of a team and independently, and have the ability to work to brand standards and set menu specifications. The ideal candidate will also have a commitment to following best practice in food allergen safety. The role is contracted to 40 hours a week, with operating hours varying between 6am-9.30pm on weekdays and 11am-7.30pm on weekends during term. Some key responsibilities include running a section of the kitchen, preparing and presenting dishes, leading commis chefs or kitchen assistants, and maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchens and surrounding working areas. The successful candidate will also be able to work to brand standards and set menu specifications, and have the ability to follow policies and processes including, but not limited to, health and safety practices.
