Morrison Energy Services is currently looking to recruit a Trainee Planner to work on our Transmission Networks Division in Scotland and UK wide.
As a Graduate Planner, you will be part of our planning department responsible for producing robust and detailed programmes for all works associated with the design, procurement, and construction phases of the projects. A key part of the role will be liaising with the Project Construction Manager and Site Engineers to ensure that the programme keeps abreast of any changes.
As a Planner, your duties & responsibilities will be:
1. Working alongside a Planner managing project programmes along the project life cycle.
2. Work with the Engineers to learn construction methods and undertake site visits.
3. In conjunction with the Planner, learn how to build, optimise, and implement construction planning and programmes in Primavera P6.
4. When necessary, produce detailed trackers to be used to collect and report progress made on a weekly basis.
5. Work with the Head of Commercial and the planning team to develop a planning culture throughout the business units and projects.
6. Champion programme management policies, procedures, and the standards required to deliver projects.
7. Work closely with the Planner, Project Manager, and Project Q.S. to maximise the potential of each project, attending site meetings when necessary.
8. Gather benchmarking information to aid the value for money assessment on each project.
9. Maintain ongoing development and delivery of a co-ordinated change agenda for business improvement.
10. Work cohesively with the commercial and financial members of the Planning and Systems team.
11. Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days on site.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
1. Full UK driving licence.
2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
3. Construction and Infrastructure knowledge advantageous.
4. Knowledge of planning software: Primavera P6 & Microsoft Project advantageous.
5. Knowledge of earned value management and NEC contracts advantageous.
