Job Description:
Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust due to the expansion in urgent & emergency care services at the Trust. As a result of a widening catchment area of patients attending Walsall Manor Emergency Department in recent years and following the opening of Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking staff to continue to support the Trust's journey to be a leading provider of care for our community.
We are looking for driven and ambitious individuals to join us. We are able to offer flexibility and opportunities for further development.
Main duties of the job
This vacancy is to recruit an Emergency Nurse / Care Practitioner in the Emergency Department to join our Medical Workforce.
We are seeking candidates with experience in the Emergency Department setting to provide assessment and treatment to patients within the See and Treat Stream of the Emergency Care Pathway.
Candidates will be required to hold registration status within either Nursing or as an Allied Healthcare Professional to join the team (at degree or equivalent level).
There is an expectation that as a Qualified ENP / ECP Band 7 joining the team you will already hold a minor injury and minor illness module (Level 6 or 7), with evidence of experience and competence within the role. There may be an opportunity to be appointed as a Band 6 with a transition to Band 7 for those that need to evidence the required competencies.
Funding will be committed to candidates to complete their Non-Medical Prescribing where it is not currently in situ.
About us
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents.
We are recommended by colleagues as a place to work which is supported by the Trust's values to work as part of a team, being respectful, compassionate and professional. We are committed to investing in our workforce.
RESPECT - COMPASSION - TEAMWORK - PROFESSIONALISM
Does this sound like the kind of organisation you'd like to work for? The kind of organisation where a former Band 2 porter went on to complete her Nursing Registration and is now part of the Senior Nursing Team in the organisation. Where a colleague who joined us in the Emergency Department as Registrar became an ED Consultant, then ED Clinical Director and is now Deputy Divisional Director of Medicine.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community.
Could you make an impact here as we focus on #BuildingOurFuture?
