Job Summary Part-time (with immediate full-time prospects) Art Director / Curational Lead role at PickArt, an art-tech startup. Curate, onboard artists, shape brand image, and guide our launch. £1,000/month equity with a plan to switch to full time or option to take on responsibilities outside the art scope. About PickArt PickArt is a fast-growing art-tech startup transforming how art is discovered, experienced, and sold. We bring genuine artworks into hospitality spaces, allowing guests to live with art and purchase it via QR codes. We value bold, expressive contemporary art that transforms hospitality interiors, as well as art with deep local roots that connects guests to their destination. Examples of the artists we are working with include Pavel Kir, Renato Veronesi, Paulin Nuotclà, and Peter Halley. We are building a global platform that empowers artists, enhances guest experiences, and generates revenue for all stakeholders. After a successful pilot in Switzerland, we are now launching in the UK — and looking for a visionary Art Director to shape our curatorial and artistic strategy. The Role You will be the first UK-based Art Director on our team, responsible for bringing PickArt’s artistic vision to life. You will work directly with the founders including CEO and CTO and often have a final say on the issues within your scope. Your influence will touch strategy, curation, artist onboarding, brand representation, and high-profile partnerships. You will help define how art lives within hospitality and how guests experience and buy it. Responsibilities Pre-Launch Phase (until mid-2025): Act as an advisor to guide operations, product development, and platform design from an art-world perspective. Help develop our brand’s image and build its reputation in the UK art scene. Post-Launch Phase (mid-2025 onward): Curate and onboard artists aligned with PickArt’s ethos and target audience. Review and select artworks submitted to our platform, ensuring quality and fair pricing. Virtually match artworks with properties to elevate interior aesthetics and guest engagement. Identify and nurture strategic collaborations and partnerships in the art world. Represent PickArt publicly — on our website, in materials, and at events. Be hands-on in key collaborations or exhibitions requiring in-person curation. Requirements Experience in curating, art advising, or creative direction (freelance or institutional). Strong network in the UK art scene, particularly among emerging artists. Familiarity with online platforms and digital tools for managing or promoting artworks. Excellent visual judgment and deep understanding of contemporary art trends. Self-starter comfortable working independently within a startup environment. Based in the UK, with flexibility to travel occasionally (optional but preferred). Compensation & Growth Path Salary: £1,000/month (part-time). Equity: Up to 2% with standard 4-year vesting (1-year cliff) as an early team member. Bonus Opportunities: Additional equity or monetary bonuses for especially valuable collaborations. Future Potential: We aim to convert this position into a full-time leadership role as PickArt’s team and operations grow. If you also have (or develop) strong operations or sales skills, we are open to expanding your scope beyond art sphere and revisiting compensation accordingly at the very start of your employment. How to Apply Send us your CV, a short note about why you’re excited by PickArt, and a few examples of your curatorial work or partnerships to timpickart.com with the subject line: “Art Director Application – [Your Name]”.
