Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with each of the departments within ILM to provide close day-to-day management of the already established managed equipment service contracts, as the equipment refresh is implemented. There will also be a focus on novating equipment into the contract in order to bring cost savings and operational efficiencies. Future opportunities for other MESCs are a potential and it is expected that this role would be crucial to that process. The post holder will also contribute to the business/commercial function within ILM.
This role does not have any line management responsibility, it is a trust wide role and cross site working will be expected. Working from home may form part of a typical working week. A flexible, hybrid approach to working is required.
The role will suit a team player and methodical thinker; experience of financial and business management are essential.
Job responsibilities
The main duties of the post holder will be:
* Supporting departmental managers in the day-to-day management of the contracts
* Liaising with MESC contract holders, primary suppliers and third parties
* Liaising with internal Trust departments including but not limited to finance and procurement
* Working with colleagues across the directorate to ensure accurate and up to date costings are provided.
The post holder will work alongside senior managers both within the directorate and elsewhere across the Trust. Communication and interpersonal skills will be key to making a success of the role, and project management experience is desirable as the directorate currently has many interdependent projects in the pipeline.
Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first months pay.
As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
