The Medical Education Department at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Medical Education Manager for our Colchester Site. East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest in the East of England Region, and we currently educate and train up to 1000 undergraduate medical students and over 600 postgraduate doctors in training. This is a great time to join the Team. The Medical Education Manager provides strategic direction, specialist medical training knowledge, planning and leadership to the Medical Education Team. This includes providing guidance and senior management support to the Directors of Medical Education, Specialty Tutors, Programme Directors and Faculty Leads, particularly with regard to national policies and current legislation relating to medical training, the education contract and service level agreements. The post reports to the Head of Medical Education and is responsible for operational management of the medical education team, which includes responsibility for the conduct, performance and line management of the administration team. This role is also responsible for ensuring that members of staff in the teams are supported in their roles and those reporting to them are managed, developed, mentored and coached appropriately. We are looking for an enthusiastic, approachable and highly motivated individual to join the team which provides Trust wide support for medical education. Responsibility for the support of medical education services across the organisation; this includes the provision of a comprehensive service, responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of professional teaching activities, training programmes, continuing professional development, induction and skills training for medical students and junior doctors Provide specialist knowledge and guidance on medical education related matters for all medical staff and managers in the Trust Ensure data collection and reporting processes are in place, which are necessary for quality control and training service development Member of NAMEM and East of England Medical Education Manager group. Responsible for medical education management reporting and for monitoring the quality and governance of the education we deliver Support a broad range of training programmes and complex educational activities, including identification of training opportunities, training the trainers and co-ordination of projects to assess and/or improve medical education. Oversee the development and implementation of expansion of posts, education programmes and initiatives Provide reports for the Director of Medical Education & team as necessary for the Faculty of Education.
