About the role
Morrison Water Services is recruiting for a Repair & Maintenance Planning Manager to work on our Welsh Water contract in Wales.
The Planning Manager is acritical leadership role responsible for the effective planning and execution of activities to meet customer demand, achieve service level agreements (SLAs),and ensure regulatory compliance supporting C-MEX. This role oversees the planning team and is accountable for the accuracy of systems data, commercial performance related to planning and driving continuous improvement in planning processes. The Planning Manager will collaborate closely with various departments, including internal/external stakeholders, operations and commercial to develop and implement optimal planning strategies.
As the Repair & Maintenance Planning Manager your responsibilities will include:
1. SLA and Regulatory Performance: Develop and implement planning strategies that consistently meet or exceed customer SLAs and comply with all relevant regulations. Monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
2. Customer Focus: Understand customer needs and translate them into actionable planning strategies. Collaborate with the Customer Service lead to ensure customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
3. Systems Data and Accuracy: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data within planning systems (e.g., SAP, Confirm, C4C). Implement data governance processes and work with MI to maintain system efficiency and reliability. Champion data-driven decision-making within the team.
4. Commercial Performance: Contribute to the commercial success of the organisation by optimizing minimizing costs and maximizing resource utilisation. Analyse planning data to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
5. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, motivate, and develop the planning team. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
6. Demand Planning and Forecasting: Develop and refine demand forecasting models using historical data and promoted forecasts.
7. Capacity Planning: Assess current and future capacity requirements and develop plans to ensure sufficient capacity to meet demand.
8. Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve planning processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness. Implement best practices and leverage technology to optimize planning operations.
9. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments, including Street works, Customer, Operations. Commercial and MI, to ensure alignment and achieve organizational goals.
10. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on key planning metrics, including SLA performance, regulatory performance, and cost of failure performance. Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
11. Proven experience in planning and forecasting, preferably in a similar industry.
12. Strong understanding of planning principles, methodologies, and best practices.
13. Experience with SAP, MRS, C4C, Confirm systems.
14. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
15. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
16. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
