Youth Worker – Alternative Provision (Liverpool)
Are you driven to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a talent for building strong, supportive relationships and guiding students who need a more tailored approach to education?
We are looking for a passionate and resilient Youth Worker to join an alternative provision school in Liverpool, supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The aim is to help re-engage learners, boost their confidence, and support their journey back into mainstream education or other positive pathways.
The Role:
* Engage students through mentoring, sports, creative activities, and day-to-day support to foster a positive learning environment
* Build trusting relationships and be a positive role model, helping students overcome barriers to education
* Promote student participation through inclusive and flexible support strategies
* Support learners with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, using de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support workers to create a structured and safe setting
The Ideal Candidate:
* Background in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or similar roles
* Experience supporting young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural challenges
* Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills
* Patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for helping young people thrive
* Skilled in managing challenging behaviour and providing both emotional and practical support
