Planner
Building London & South East Commercial
Uxbridge
An opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join the team at Galliford Try. The Planner willreport to The Lead Planner on a daily basis with excellent progression opportunity.
The Planner willprovide a complete construction planning service at pre-qualification, pre-construction and construction stages.
Ideally, you will based in or around Uxbridge, London and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
What you will be doing:
1. Provide outline programmes, logistic plans and methodologies at pre-qualification stage and submit/present to clients and client representatives.
2. Provide detailed tender construction programmes from first principles together with method statements for inclusion in Bid submissions.
3. Provide a contract planning service including development of contract programmes, target programmes, close out programmes and procurement schedules, monitor progress, attend progress meetings, issue progress reports, and reprogramming as required by the planning brief.
4. Promote the company at pre-qualification, tender and contract interviews, presentations, and meetings.
5. Carry out a continuous programme of research into new and innovative building techniques and advise the Lead Planner and tender/contract teams of any application showing the possibility of positive benefits.
6. Undertake independent project progress reporting, including the analysis of the outcome and providing feedback to project teams and senior management and advise on potential mitigations measures.
7. Review Subcontractors programmes.
8. Collaborating with all stakeholders both internal and external.
Other duties:
9. Visit sites to ascertain conditions and constraints to be considered in preparing tender programmes and method statements.
10. Assess requirements and provide comprehensive scaffold, hoist and crane schedules to be used in obtaining competitive and realistic quotations.
11. Provide to the contract team information release schedules.
12. Compile comparative programmes for use in substantiation of claims or in disputes.
13. Working as part of both tendering and project teams
14. Support and mentor junior members of the team in a supporting role when allocated.
About You:
15. A working knowledge/experience of construction planning through live job experience or training.
16. Ideally experience of tendering and preconstruction.
17. Ability to manage a number of project programmes simultaneously.
18. Good contractual awareness and commercially astute.
19. The ability to build construction programmes from first principles.
20. Resource and logistics knowledge and how it affects the programme.
21. Use of ASTA Planning software; training is available to transfer skills from other planning software where applicable.
22. Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures.
23. Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values - Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Collaboration.
