The Student Placement IT Specialist will support the IT team in maintaining and improving the company's IT Application Landscape. This role is designed for future graduates who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical, business environment.
You will work in the business facing IT Applications team and gain practical and hands-on experience working within all of the functions of the wider IT department. This role provides real breadth in a fast-paced IT department, contributing to the team’s success, whilst learning the practical application of IT processes, tools, and techniques to support a future successful career in IT.
The Role
As a placement student in our IT Department, you will have the opportunity to:
* Continuous Improvement: Identifying and delivering opportunities for improvement in the use of and the business value derived through IT applications.
* Business Analysis: Support functional and technical specifications for technology changes by effectively applying business analysis techniques.
* End User Training: Ensure end users are equipped to use technology solutions in the most optimal way through adequate training and documentation.
* IT Application Support: Provides support to end users for requests and incidents ensuring standard operating procedures are followed.
* Project Delivery: Provides support for projects.
Minimum Requirements
* Currently enrolled in a degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Basic understanding of networking, hardware, and software.
* Self-starter and confident working in teams and collaborating.
* Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
* Customer focus: thinks about the impact on IT’s customers of changes to IT services.
* Demonstrates analytical skills and is able to balance the need for analysis and rigour with speed of action when solving problems.
* Ability to work under pressure and deliver to agreed timescales.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
