As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the Management Accountant in delivering timely and accurate monthly management accounts and improving current reports and processes. This position is a 9-month FTC covering Parental / Maternity Leave. Key Requirements: Experience in management accounting, particularly in journal preparation, with proven expertise in balance sheet management. Advanced Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables and formulas, are essential requirements of the role. System-wise, familiarity with SUN and Q&A systems is preferred. Key responsibilities include Assisting with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations in collaboration with the Financial Accounting team. Ensuring management accounting tasks are up to date under the direction of the Management Accountant (MA). Preparing monthly and quarterly reports, ensuring timely production of monthly financial statements. Driving Value for Money across the organisation. Completing monthly journals with appropriate supporting documentation. Supporting the annual production of financial statements and external audit preparation. Managing the full cycle of HOME foundation transactions. Participating in process improvement initiatives following system implementation. Monitoring and correcting transaction coding, including purchase order accruals. Undertaking any other reasonable ad hoc duties as required. Requirements We are seeking a motivated and technically competent individual who meets the following criteria: Experience: Practical experience in management accounting. Demonstrated expertise in preparing financial and management reports, including forecasts and budgets. Experience in the social housing sector (preferred). Qualifications: Part-qualified member of a professional accounting body (ACCA, CIMA, CA, ACA) and actively pursuing full qualifications. Skills: Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities. Comprehensive understanding of current accounting practices and standards. Experience using the SUN system and Q&A (preferred).
