What you will do: You will obtain blood samples from patients by venepuncture within wards and outpatient clinics within NHS Ayrshire & Arran whilst adhering to standard operating procedures. For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job description Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job: You should be qualified to SVQ/NVQ level 3 in a healthcare related subject and preferably have experience of Phlebotomy in a hospital setting, however full training will be provided in all aspects of the job. A basic understanding of I.T. is required and previous experience of Trakcare and PMS would be an advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having the ability to set patients at ease. You will work as part of a team in a multidisciplinary setting, however once trained will be expected to work without direct supervision.
