If so, then this could be the opportunity for you. We are looking to recruit a Community Connector to become part of our Community Development team based in Scotland. You will be working in a team of 9 people carrying out neighbourhoodbased community development work; focused on supporting connections between neighbours and identifying the skills and gifts of individuals. You will also work very closely with the Glasgow Housing team to help achieve these goals. The role of Community Connector will include: Engaging and supporting communities to understand their skills and aspirations Supporting the development of appropriate resident led action/projects Adopting an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach to support the development of sustainable and thriving communities Assisting residents in identifying, engaging and collaborating with local informal groups and associations to connect and strengthen community activities Supporting the provision of opportunities for local residents to develop working partnerships with community and other relevant organisations Maintaining relevant records, document activities and preparing reports whilst providing feedback as requested within Sanctuary's protocols Assist in supporting residents to build networks and share knowledge and information as community leaders Skills and experiences: Proven experience working in a similar role alongside a community to support them to achieve their goals and aspirations Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of individuals Proficient in Microsoft packages, including Excel, Word and Outlook Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills Ability to work autonomously and also as part of a team Literacy and numeracy equivalent to Scottish National 5 Understanding of Trauma Informed Practice and Asset Based Community Development is desirable Occasional travel may be requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential Why work for us?
