Department The Graduate Recruitment team is responsible for recruiting the firms trainee lawyers, reporting to the Partners and Head of HR. As the firm grows its business and looks to ensure competitive advantage, the team has looked to hire the best talent possible, through diverse attraction and rigorous but fair assessment. The Role We are recruiting two roles to join our Graduate Recruitment team, a Recruitment Assistant and Marketing & Events Assistant. Below you will find duties for both roles detailed. Recruitment Assistant To assist in the attraction and recruitment of the highest calibre trainee lawyers, largely via co-ordinating end-to-end assessment processes. This includes organising recruitment days and vacation schemes, as well as monitoring and analysing our recruitment data. Marketing & Events Assistant To assist in the attraction and recruitment of the highest calibre trainee lawyers, via showcasing the firm through our marketing streams (social and digital channels), as well as co-ordinating attraction events and building lasting relationships with key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Recruitment Assistant Assist the Graduate Recruitment Managers in the planning and organisation of recruitment days and vacation schemes. Attend these events when required. Organising, and ensuring the smooth running of, virtual and in-person interviews. Mapping assessment processes and materials, co-ordinating candidates to complete and submit assessments, liaising with markers and collecting assessment scores. To attend decision making meetings, to understand the end-to end-process and value of the assessment process. Responsible for tracking assessment and recruitment day/vacation scheme data on excel. Assisting with data analysis after processes have been completed, to in turn support with future strategy and understanding ROI. Creating feedback emails for candidates who have been unsuccessful, at interview and recruitment day/vacation scheme level. To work with HR to create and manage offer documentation and transfer of candidate information. To support candidates through our processes, both in-person and on email/the phone. To deal with any queries promptly and efficiently. Manage our Applicant Tracking System throughout the year, to ensure it is up to date. Ensure the graduate recruitment website and internal hub is kept up to date. Any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Senior Graduate Recruitment Manager, Graduate Recruitment Manager and the rest of the early careers team. Provide support to any Graduate Development project as required. Marketing & Events Assistant Organising and managing all Graduate Recruitment Events - tracking these via the appropriate documents and our events platform. Responsible for managing this events platform. Ensuring we have appropriate delegates at all events, to maintain the Travers Smith brand and reputation. Attend events where possible to ensure the smooth running of the event and delegate supervision. Management of our social media platforms (Instagram and TikTok), including the planning, creation, scheduling and evaluation of posts, to ensure content is consistent and engaging. Liaise and build relationships with external organisations (e.g. media brand partners, university law societies, university career services, diversity organisation, etc) to market Travers Smith and our opportunities. This includes content creation, finding delegates for events, and generating new ideas for podcasts, webinars, events, etc. Lead the organisation of campus events run throughout the year, with guidance from the Graduate Recruitment Manager. Primarily this is firm specific presentations but can include University Society events. Assist with updating our annual marketing campaign materials. Ensure the graduate recruitment website and internal hub is kept up to date. Where possible, to assist with analysing attraction data to understand ROI and to guide future strategy. Any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Senior Graduate Recruitment Manager, Graduate Recruitment Manager and the rest of the early careers team. Provide support to any Graduate Development project as required. Other Responsibilities Both roles In the months of November, January and February to screen applications for our processes. Supporting the Recruitment Assistant or Marketing & Events Assistant on an ad hoc basis In busy periods, to aid the rest of the early careers function where needed. Personal Specification - Experience, Knowledge & Skills Both roles Education/Experience/Qualifications: Prior experience in a professional services environment, or office environment. Graduate with a first or upper second class degree or equivalent (if not applicable, then considerable office experience). Technical/Work-based Skills/Knowledge: Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Willingness to use software packages that are unfamiliar. Demonstrable ability to pick up new skills quickly and effectively. General Skills/Attributes: High degree of professionalism with a client-centred 'can-do' attitude (clients being Partners and prospective applicants/students). Excellent organisational and time management skills and attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills - able to communicate effectively and confidently, and adapts communication styles to different audiences. Uses initiative, thinks creatively and has good problem solving skills. Able to adapt to shifting priorities and adjust plans appropriately. An ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines. Works effectively as part of a team and on one's own. We are excited to be moving from our London headquarters in Snow Hill, to a brand-new building in the City - Stonecutter Court. The move is expected to take place in early 2026.
