Housekeeping Team Lead
Full Time | The Yorkshire Clinic
The Yorkshire Clinic, Part of Ramsay Health Care, is a leading provider of independent healthcare in the UK.
The Yorkshire Clinic is set in three acres of Woodland in the grounds of Cottingley Hall in Bingley, West Yorkshire. The facility is registered to provide care and treatment for adults for diagnostic and screening procedures, surgical procedures, treatment of disease, medical disorders, and sports injury.
We are currently recruiting for a Housekeeping Team Lead to oversee the management and functioning of the housekeeping department across The Yorkshire Clinic and Lodge, you will work as part of a team to ensure that all standards of cleanliness are maintained in the hospital. You will operate according to Ramsay Policies and Procedures, maintaining hotel service standards.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hospital environment, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Knowledge of the audit cycle and its importance in measuring and monitoring cleanliness standards
Knowledge of the National Cleaning Standards and meeting compliance to the standards.
Excellent Communication skills essential
Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality housekeeping.
Duties of this role include:
Leading a team of housekeepers, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness throughout the main Hospital and Lodge in line with the National Cleaning Standards.
Be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and infection prevention control standards
Develop and maintain cleaning schedules for all rooms, patient areas, and external areas.
Ensure all housekeeping services are maintained to a high standard
Day to day line management of the Housekeeping Team ensuring supervisions, appraisals and training are completed in a timely manner.
Employ safe working practices and adhere to health & safety procedures
Provide housekeeping cover should the team be short due to sickness or annual leave.
Prepare and maintain staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
Train and supervise housekeeping staff to BICS Standards
Monitor the level of service provided against the agreed standards for the department and perform audits of operational activities when required.
Leadership: Ability to manage and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and ensure everyone is working efficiently.
Communication: Clear and effective communication with staff, other departments, and management.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all areas meet cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Time Management: Efficiently managing time and resources to complete tasks promptly.
Problem-Solving: Quickly addressing and resolving issues that arise.
Organizational Skills: Keeping track of schedules, supplies, and staff performance.
Knowledge of Cleaning Procedures and Safety Protocols: Understanding the best practices for cleaning and maintaining a safe environment.
Customer Service: Interacting professionally with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
