We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to work in a thriving secondary school in Staveley. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive school environment and gain valuable classroom experience. The Role: We are looking for a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to supervise lessons across a range of subjects at KS3 and KS4 level. You will be expected to manage a classroom, ensure pupils remain on task with the work set, and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment. This is a temporary role initially, but there is potential for long-term or permanent placement for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: Deliver pre-set lesson materials in the absence of teaching staff Ensure that students stay on task and engage positively with learning Manage classroom behaviour and report any incidents following school policy Work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to support student learning Provide feedback on lesson activity and student progress Minimum Requirements: To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria: Experience: Previous experience working with young people in an educational, mentoring, or coaching capacity is desirable Training: Basic understanding of classroom behaviour management techniques Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities; a current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through Link3 To be considered for the higher end of the salary bracket, candidates should demonstrate: Substantial classroom experience within a secondary school setting CPD training in behaviour management or classroom leadership Consistent reliability and positive feedback when working with Link3 Recruitment A proactive and flexible approach to covering different subjects and year groups Location: This role is based in Staveley, within a well-established secondary school.
