The role CENTRIC is a security-focused, applied research centre that aims to contribute to the safety and security of individuals, communities, and society in the UK and across the globe. A core theme of CENTRIC's research focuses on the development of innovative, technological solutions that address contemporary security challenges for law enforcement, security actors and international organizations. We are seeking a Senior Research Fellow with a background in senior police leadership to provide expert knowledge on CENTRIC's Strategic policing projects. The post holder will act as SPOC with security services and senior police staff. Following both standard and innovative research procedures you will develop research objectives, projects and proposals around strategic policing requirements, national level AI deployment and SOC. The Team The Centre of Excellence in Terrorism, Intelligence, Resilience and Organised Crime Research (CENTRIC) is a multidisciplinary, security-focused research centre, located at Sheffield Hallam University. By collaborating with a number of academic, law enforcement, government and industry partners from across the EU, CENTRIC's objective is to address issues and provide solutions to some of Europe's most pressing contemporary security challenges. CENTRIC's research agenda CENTRIC brings together stakeholders from the government, academia, public and private sectors undertaking applied research across the security and intelligence domains. CENTRIC’s overarching research mandate is to develop end-user driven technologies and solutions to support law enforcement agencies and other practitioners in their operational activities, whilst working in close collaboration with a broad spectrum of security professionals to improve the development of their professional skills. CENTRIC has close links with local, national and international LEAs and specialist security groups and collaborates with a number of law enforcement agencies and leading technology providers.
