About the role
As the Specials Coordinator for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd, you will quality control and manage all new and recycled special equipment, to maximise reuse and reissue of all non-standard community equipment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
1. Facilitating the new and recycled specials company processes in conjunction with the local service specification and contract requirements.
2. Coordination of the delivery, repair, cataloguing and quality control of non-standard stock items.
3. Acting as a consultant and point of contact for prescribers, commissioners, manufacturers, and all internal departments regarding new and recycled equipment orders.
4. Liaising with Warehouse regarding new specials, checking that all parts are with the order.
5. Photographing and templating non-stock equipment and competently adding them to the online catalogue with correct description and category.
6. Ensuring all recycled special stock control processes are followed at all times.
7. Liaising with prescribers and OTs to advise on equipment.
8. Going through the allocation of recycled specials and checking they are fit to go out.
9. Occasional visits to clients’ sites and assisting in delivery and collection of equipment.
10. Following the company’s guidelines for dealing with scrap equipment disposal and carefully following the health and safety guidelines regarding the control of hazardous substances.
11. Adhering stringently to Medequip processes regarding stock accountability.
12. Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in the Warehouse.

Qualifications and experience required:
1. Educated to GCSE standard in Maths and English.
2. Ideally some experience in a public, healthcare or service-based industry.
3. Experience in a similar role is essential.
