Your Role
1. Designing, developing and deploying electrical and electronic systems to our fleet of autonomous test vehicles. Progress your prototype concept through to a robust integrated solution.
2. Working with suppliers of Drive by Wire systems to implement robust, high quality and safe drive-by-wire installations. Lead the design and integration of these systems on Oxa vehicles.
3. Defining and creating physical hardware solutions as part of a Drive by Wire system on a new vehicle platform.
4. Designing and debugging CAN bus communication systems.
5. Working cross-functionally with the wider Oxa team to identify design and functional requirements, while considering the various vehicle attributes affected by the work, liaising with relevant VENG team members where appropriate.
6. Interaction with suppliers of electrical and electronic components.
7. Producing wiring schematics and schedules, assembly drawings, detail drawings, circuit diagrams and PCB layouts.
8. Producing bills of materials specifying components and potential suppliers
9. Influencing the build process to ensure Oxa’s prototype vehicles are robust, capable test beds for our vision of Universal Autonomy.
Requirements
What you need to succeed:
10. A degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Robotics, computer science or a related discipline.
11. Prior experience working with vehicle control systems, drive by wire systems or general vehicle integration.
12. Experience of field testing complex systems such as autonomous platforms, robotics or motorsport projects.
13. Proven experience with electrical design projects.
14. A sound knowledge of engineering design principles.
15. A good understanding of electrical principles.
Extra kudos:
16. Automotive industry experience - Electrical systems.
17. Experience of building your own robots.
18. Familiarity with Jira software.
19. ADAS knowledge/experience including differential GPS systems.
