Passive Fire Consultant - National Organisation - Brentwood, Essex / Hybrid -£60k-£75k (DoE) bonus & bens We’re on the hunt for a qualified and experienced Passive Fire Consultant to join one of the UK’s fastest-growing passive fire protection companies. Joining the technical team and reporting to the Technical Manager, the Passive Fire Consultant will be responsible for passive fire protection programming from design stage to completion, providing guidance on specification and details. You will provide valuable guidance on specifications and fire-stopping details to clients at thedesign stage of projects, attending meetings with Tier 1 contractors’ design teams to support them throughout the various RIBA states. You will also support the technical team in managing product selection at design stages and and produce fire stopping schedules for use in industry software. We’re looking for someone with previous experience within passive fire protection, productsystems and technical details and ideally a background in manufacturing or testing. This is a full time role, working Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Key responsibilities as the Passive Fire Consultant will include: Providing guidance on specifications and fire-stopping details to clients at design stages of projects Attending meetings with Tier 1 contractors’ design teams to support then throughout the various RIBA stages Supporting the technical team in the product selection process at design stages Producing fire-stopping schedules for us in industry software Site visits and meetings with clients to finalise details and requirements Provide guidance, briefings and support to internal installation teams Addressing any issues that may arise affecting standard details installations Adopting best working practices to ensure adherence to ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 standards and ensuring accreditation is maintained Building and maintaining strong relationships with passive fire manufacturers Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations to ensure compliance What we’re looking for: Previous experience within passive fire protection, product systems and technical details, specifically in respect of penetration and linear gap seals Background in manufacturing or testing is preferable A Level 3 qualification in passive fire protection is highly desirable Knowledge of third-party certification schemes Knowledge of testing standards of passive fire protection, building regulations and guidance documents Ability to read technical drawings, floor plans, fire strategies etc. Experience with CAD and relevant industry software is highly advantageous BIM modelling / 3D models’ navigation is desirable Strong IT skills Excellent professional communication skills (written and spoken) Strong numerical skills Excellent time and project management capabilities Proactive problem-solving abilities, especially in finding solutions to technical issues Interested in this great opportunity?
